It's nice to have finally got rid of "pitchero.com" Cool

Bar and diner will be open and only £2 entry (or £1 if you're a ST holder) Very Happy

Good news! However, it's not true, with all due respect to the website, that he holds the record for City goals in a season. In the mid-70s, Rob Thomas scored well over forty (including one from the penalty spot when he played a League game in goal) in a Northern Premier League which was effectively the equivalent of Conference North, there being no Conference at that time, and the NPL and Southern Leagues being the top semi-pro leagues, containing the likes of Wigan Athletic, Macclesfield Town, Boston United. Rob actually scored more goals that season than anyone else in professional or semi-professional football in England.
Later, in NWCL days, Dave Barnes scored a similar number, though admittedly, this was a lower standard.
In pre and immediately post-war days, when goals were more plentiful, there may have been others who scored as many or more. Oh, and let's not forget Chris Ward. How many did he score in 2000/1? (Someone will know!)

I was going to say all that Brocker! I remember Rob Thomas scored something like 48 goals that season. As for Chris Ward, I think he got about 30 that season, but wasn't he sold to Birmingham during the season?

How many did Andy Whittaker score the season after Chris Ward. I remember Rob Thomas well and he also played some games at the back for us. Its good to have Jordan back with us and if fully fit I am sure he will score regularly for us again. A goal scorer is what we are missing at the moment.
