Quite a few, I should think, since we're at home.

CITY 1 SPENNYMOOR 4

Attempt number 8 to get out of this league looks doomed by the middle of October. Roll on next August Evil or Very Mad

Or is there a glimmer of hope of a substantial improvement anywhere?

I think there will be an improvement, we're kind of par at the minute but we could finish a couple under by the end of the round. But short of me winning the Euromillions I wouldn't expect substantial improvement.

Spennymoor are good side, played some nice stuff. They have money, and they have crowds (lowest attendance 452 this season). That they could conceivably finish 3rd or 4th (although I fancy them for 2nd) in the league speaks of the competitiveness this season.

I thought it was the 9th attempt?!

Once again the finishing is poor we keep creating chances but do not take them. 2nd half Spennymoor looked a useful team and the score would have been far worse if not for Hale. I would not give up this early on reaching a play off place. 10 goals conceded in the last 3 games needs sorting out soon as well.
With 2 games a week a small squad is always going to struggle. I have confidence in Darren and Trevor sorting it out.

No, just checked it back, it is the 8th, the first being in 2007-08.

The only time in that period when we've had as few points as we have now (after 11 games) was two years ago, in the turmoil of the Stringfellow/Wainwright/Hoyle season.

Plenty of time to turn things around of course, but I suppose it's the usual question as to whether we have the resources to bring about improvements.
