default Stocksbridge (non-ironic) HURRAH!

on 28/10/2016, 10:33
Finally. 27 years living in Sheffield, and Lancaster City finally have a game near(ish) to where I live.

Sheffield F C would have been better (Note for Phil Brown - if both teams could get promoted so they can play each other, that would be fantastic), but it's in the Sheffield boundary, so cheap and easy to get to (for me!).

Good Points: Winnable game, £4.30 CityWide Bus & Tram Day Ticket gets you from Sheffield to Stocksbridge and back (good for any fans on the train, buy on any bus/tram), great clubhouse overlooking the pitch, friendly club, amazing views across the moors, a decent programme and good food/pie selection.

Bad Points: No pubs nearby (hardly any at all in Stocksbridge worth going in), if it's windy it is BRACING.

Sheffield Wednesday are away, so crowd should be boosted a bit, but expect a modest 150 crowd. Went last season, and they had a good Trophy run so will probably want to emulate that.

See you there ...........

Would love to be there, but can't. All the best to the lads--get back to winning ways!
