Very true, which is why we need to make sure there are no excuses for people not to turn up and our club is as welcoming as possible.

That's all this comes down to for us as a club. We're just trying to move us forward off the pitch and there's a lot of work being done by a lot of people to try and achieve this.

Match days would feel a lot better if everyone pulled in the same direction and put making Lancaster City the best football club it can be for everyone. We are a non league football club at the end of the day.

This has made painful reading. Sit back.

As we know the reason for the stewards' presence evolved from pitch invasions which, although I'm aware we're celebratory and not meant to be intimidating or dangerous, can understandably be seen in that light.

Regarding the recent requests about stopping "We're City We're Mad We'll Kill Your Mum and Dad" and not displaying that flag. The chairman requested, granted through people below him, that we do both those things. One steward in particular approached a few weeks ago and was met with a fiery response, to say the least.

First of all, the steward in question is not deserving of the abuse he receives, he is doing his job and attempting to achieve something that, in most people's eyes, is reasonable. He has not once been unreasonable in his approach.
Russell Walsh had no need to come over, and although he was also met with a fiery response I understand that no one has a clue who he is so he had no scope getting involved.
Another issue is why the chairman himself doesn't make the request in person- he doesn't have to. It would help, but he won't, because he's not that kind of person and frankly I would assume he has been scared away from the possibility by the response the requests have received.

Finally on that matter- THE SONG AND FLAG REQUESTS WERE REASONABLE. I am not offended by the song, I enjoyed singing it to be quite honest. But it refers to intent to kill, so I understand why the club don't like it. I'm also not offended by the flag, in the slightest.. The point is, it's a skull and cross bones and some people don't like it. The fuss about it from the club is probably slightly over the top, but only because it has been dragged out unnecessarily.

If you take anything from this post, please let it be this- the chairman, although his treatment of some staff and fans has been deplorable, invests most of his time and tens of thousands of pounds in this club. Therefore, when he makes a request like this, so fucking small and not worth getting upset about, just accept it. He's not penning you in after the games, he's not escorting you to where you should drink and stand, he wants to take away one song and one flag. Fuck me we've more flags than fans anyway now.

As touched on before, seven years I have been coming and the atmosphere was always belting purely by encouraging our side. We all hate Morecambe, we know it, sing about it, that's not gonna stop and I don't want it to. I wouldn't stamp on their heads though, they're not worth the jail time.

Remember Harrogate last January? 1-0, Kilifin goal, 30+ singing in the Shed, not one mention of people's Mum's and Dads, just following our team. Best I have ever heard at the Axe. People were excited about the atmosphere and it was viewed positively, getting back to that would be perfect.

By the way, smoke bombs and firecrackers that sound like cannons, there's been enough memorable atmospheres at the Giant Axe created without pyros.

Stop calling people grasses as well, as if you're not doing it right in plain sight. You're not the fucking Bloods and the Crips and we're not in a street gang.

Another thing, following the club home and away doesn't necessarily mean you care about what happens. We've all been to watch a game we don't care about just for the piss up. Granted that can be the best bit, but in the end unfortunately it's not all about that.

One fucking song and one fucking flag! That's all it is!

My thoughts.....any amount of bickering on here isn't going to solve anything.
Maybe club officials could seek a civilised dialogue with those fans they have issues with preferably away from the match day environment. Quite frankly the over zealous heavy handed approach to the issues they have with the controversial flag likely helped vent the feelings being posted on this thread. Something to consider.
Re the pyros.....got to stop. Much as I enjoy seeing pictures of them at Eastern European games & elsewhere I accept there's no place for them at our games. End of.
Re the "banned song" (pmsl) although it was heard yesterday it has been less audible lately with fewer people singing it. Maybe if it wasn't vilified on here every time it's heard then it might die a natural death (no pun intended).
Re the flag....absolutely no idea what the problem is. However I do know it's leading to confrontation for no good reason.
Re banning fans....hopefully this won't be necessary but if the club feels the need to exclude one or two individuals then I hope they will consider what impact that may have on the wider group of fans that they may be associated with unless there is a queue of families waiting in the wings to replace them.
