default Mossley 0 - 1 CITY

on 11/2/2017, 20:01
Not a pretty game on a pitch that at first glance appeared waterlogged, but was merely a mud bath.

Very physical game that our lads met head on to grind out three points. A few moments of quality to get us the win, Winders volley after a great cross from Jarvis. Steel and Mercer rock solid at the back, Scholesy seemed to enjoy himself.

All we can do is keep winning. COYDB!

A good win for us at a venue where we have struggled in recent times, capping off a good week. Unfortunately though Farsley have pipped us over the last two games, beating two play off contenders by three clear goals.

The season ending on 29th April means that from this point we have to play 12 games in 77 days, whilst Farsley will have to play a minimum of 17 over the same period. Will that work in our favour, who knows!

Surely the season ends on April 22nd, followed by the playoffs, in which case Farsley have 15 games left. Agree though it should give us an advantage. The gap is now pretty big between us and everybody else, so that realistically Farsley are our only real challengers. I think it's ours to lose now.

Just looked at the fixtures and forgot Farsley are still in two cup competitions. Even better for us.

Mathematically we could win all our remaining games and still finish second, but highly unlikely. We just need to keep the pressure on Farsley by winning as many as we can

Another win, keep the pressure on the pack (who I don't think have any chance of catching us) & most especially on Farsley. They have shown great character coming back & winning 2 games against sides contesting the playoff places after the way we beat them. We need (obviously!) to keep winning & keep the pressure cranked up on them.
Hoping for a Celt's win in the league cup (after extra time preferably)on Tuesday!
Another big question is will Jarvo be allowed to extend his loan by another month? Could be vital if he is!

The ultimate kick in the nuts. 100 points and still not get promoted!

The end of the season, yes, 22nd April with the play offs the week after. So from today, we have 12 games in 69 days, Farsley a minimum of 17 in the same period, so an average of at least one every 4 days for them.

12 games to go, 37 points required.
No problem.
